Thank you for your interest in becoming a Junior Coach for the Briarmoor Manor Sharks! This position offers you a chance to be a role model to younger swimmers while also gaining valuable coaching experience and knowledge of swim team operations. Junior coaches will work directly with the head coach to provide stroke instruction while mentoring and motivating young swimmers.

Duties Include:

• Promoting good sportsmanship
• Aiding swimmers in improving their stroke skills
• Remaining active in creating a fun and energetic environment at all meets—getting the young team members involved and excited to compete, creating themes for each meet, leading cheers, etc.
• Placing cell phones away with belongings during practices and meets
• Communicating with fellow coaches
• Helping to complete swim meet entries
• Maintaining behavior that provides a positive role model for the team
• Arriving 15 minutes before the start of practice to set up lane lines and put out kickboards
• Attending practices, meets, and end of year party
• Helping to plan activities and hand out ribbons on Wednesday AM donut day
• Helping to set up/ clean up the pool and equipment for meets
